Postdoctoral Fellow
Matthias completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leoben in Austria in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
His studies and research in his undergraduate and graduate degree focused on the fatigue assessment of mechanical structures. His Master’s Thesis was about the impacts of micro surface defects on the fatigue strength of mechanical parts.
Matthias completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Victoria (UVic) under the supervision of Dr. Peter Wild in 2021. His research involves advanced system integration, sensing and control strategies and will be conducted in close collaboration with the University of British Columbia (UBC).
In his free time, Matthias likes to spend time with family and friends as well as rock climbing and travelling.
